Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell Headlines DNC Podcast
Outlines Democratic Governors’ “America Competes” Agenda for Prosperity
Washington, DC– The Democratic National Committee’s Podcast hosted Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell this week. Governor Rendell outlined Democratic Governors’ plan to strengthen American competitiveness and challenged President Bush to adopt their proposals in his State of the Union address.
“If nothing less, we’d love to see the President create a real council on competitiveness with the charge of reporting back to him by no later than September 1st of what America needs to become competitive in all four of these areas…We’d love to see the President start investing in our future and our future ability to compete,” he said. “The President can do a lot, and the cost is relatively low compared to the cost of not doing anything.”
Podcast listeners are also directed to the DNC website where they can sign up to host or attend a State of the Union watch party. They are reminded that DNC Chairman Howard Dean will attend a randomly selected watch party hosted by a Democracy Bond holder and are encouraged to purchase a Democracy Bond. Watch party hosts and participants will participate in a nationwide conference call with Chairman Dean and other national Democratic leaders upon the completion of the State of the Union address.
