Wrong State

Wisconsin’s economy is doing so well that Republican gubernatorial hopeful Scott Walker wants to start sending business to the neighbors.

In the middle of one of the worst national recessions in generations, Walker is vacationing in Duluth, Minn. while he tours the state by motorcycle.

Don’t adjust your monitors. Minnesota. In other words, not Wisconsin.

In fact, Duluth is just a stone’s throw from Superior, Wisc., but the thousands of dollars Walker and his retinue are spending will all go into Minnesota’s coffers.

But this isn’t the first time Walker has confused who should pay for what. His own Milwaukee County Supervisors have filed a complaint) against him, alleging that the motorcycle tour of the state is funded by corporate donations and taxpayer dollars.

Good Signs in Wisconsin

There are 39 states that have gubernatorial races in the next two election cycles, and the Badger State is one of them.

Governor Doyle’s commitment to education and good governance through fiscal discipline has clearly resonated with Wisconsinites, as a new poll from DailyKos reveals. Doyle holds a commanding 12 point lead over Republican Scott Walker and a whopping 14 point lead over Republican Mark Neumann.

Maybe voters aren’t so happy about Walker’s secret layoffs of hundreds of county employees. And understandably so.
