Internship Program

The DGA internships allow interested individuals to obtain practical experience in political, communications, policy, and fundraising operations. We are a busy staff and we rely heavily on our interns. Interns will take on many important responsibilities, and their tasks familiarize them with the basics of fundraising and political work. There are also opportunities to be assigned to advanced, long-term projects.

The DGA is currently accepting applications for Fall 2010 internships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Researching initiatives of the Democratic governors;
• Researching prospective corporate and individual members of the DGA;
• Obtaining news articles and information from the Internet and other media sources pertaining to the political landscape of various states;
• Developing media and member prospect lists;
• Assisting in the organization of fundraising events on behalf of Democratic governors and gubernatorial candidates;
• Assisting in the production of materials distributed at DGA meetings; and
• Providing essential support to the DGA staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking reliable college students who are highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, have an interest in politics, work well under pressure, and have a professional and friendly attitude. A successful candidate will have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.
